Custom Rubber Backup Rings
Royal Way manufactures custom rubber backup rings for buyer-defined seal glands and anti-extrusion arrangements. Parts can be quoted from a controlled drawing, complete dimensions or an existing sample.
Information for quotation
- Assembly drawing and the seal or O-ring used with the backup ring
- Gland diameter, groove width, radial clearance and extrusion gap
- Backup-ring outside diameter, inside diameter, width, profile and cut style
- Static or dynamic motion, pressure direction and operating cycle
- Fluid, temperature and any compound or hardness requirement already specified
- Dimensional tolerances, surface requirements and inspection method
- Required quantity and documentation requirements
A nominal seal size alone does not establish the backup-ring geometry or service suitability. Final profile, compound and hardness are confirmed after the complete gland and operating conditions are reviewed.
