How to Select an AS568 O-Ring

An AS568 dash number defines standardized inch-series dimensions, but the dash number does not define material, hardness or application suitability.

Selection checklist

  • Confirm AS568 dash number, inside diameter and cross-section.
  • Check whether the gland is static or dynamic and review squeeze, stretch, clearance and surface finish.
  • Select compound and hardness for the fluid, gas, pressure, temperature and decompression conditions.
  • Verify backup-ring needs and equipment-specific approvals before installation.

Typical applications

Used in static and dynamic glands across hydraulic, pneumatic, valve, pump, oilfield service-tool and general industrial equipment when the groove is designed for the selected AS568 size.

The seal or repair kit does not determine the pressure rating of the complete assembly. Confirm the equipment model, figure, connection, working pressure, temperature and service fluid before ordering or installation.
