Plug Valve Seal Kit Fitment Checklist

A plug valve seal kit should be matched to the exact valve assembly. Valve size, manufacturer, model, pressure class and revision can affect seal dimensions and kit contents. A package that looks similar may still be incorrect.

Before requesting a quote

• Record manufacturer, valve model, nominal size and all body or nameplate markings.
• Confirm the equipment document or parts-list reference if available.
• Photograph the complete valve, nameplate, plug, inserts and removed soft parts.
• List every required component and the quantity per valve.
• State the medium, temperature, working and test pressure, cycling and service history.

Royal Way currently organizes standard Plug Valve kit material choices as NBR and HNBR. This is a purchasing option, not a blanket claim that either material suits every application. The actual compound must be reviewed against the medium and operating envelope.

During disassembly

Follow the equipment manufacturer’s safety and maintenance procedure. Isolate and fully depressurize the valve before work. Keep removed parts in order. Inspect the plug, body bore, inserts, stems, bearings and sealing surfaces. Record scratches, corrosion, washout and abnormal wear. A soft-parts kit cannot compensate for damaged metal components.

Before installation

• Compare every new part with the approved parts list and removed component.
• Check dimensions, profile, hardness identification and quantity.
• Clean grooves without damaging sealing surfaces.
• Use only an assembly lubricant confirmed compatible with the elastomer and process.
• Confirm orientation and tightening sequence from the valve documentation.

After assembly

Operate and test the valve according to the equipment manufacturer’s procedure and site requirements. The completed valve must be evaluated as an assembly. Do not infer a valve pressure rating from a replacement seal kit.
